Contract/Freelance Project Description


Linxx Global Solutions, LLC (Linxx) is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cable Technician to join our network infrastructure team. The Cable Technician will play a critical role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting copper and fiber-optic cabling systems to ensure reliable and high-performance network connectivity. This position requires hands-on experience in cable installation and may require relevant certifications in cable management or network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cable Installation: Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber-optic cables according to industry standards and project requirements.
  • Cable Routing: Plan and route cable pathways, conduits, and raceways for efficient and organized cable installations.
  • Cable Testing: Conduct cable testing, including continuity, resistance, and signal integrity tests, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Cable Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections of existing cabling systems to identify and address potential issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot cable-related connectivity problems and resolve issues promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of cable installations, configurations, and test results.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and best practices while working with cabling systems to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Material Management: Manage and track cable inventory and materials to ensure availability for projects.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with network engineers and other IT professionals to support network infrastructure needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure cable installations meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications in cable management may be required).
  • Hands-on experience in copper and fiber-optic cable installation.
  • Knowledge of cable types, connectors, and termination methods.
  • Familiarity with cable testing equipment and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various physical conditions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI RCDD, CompTIA Network+).
