IT Technical Engineer for Mobility/Direct Store Delivery (DSD) is a strong resource with experience in implementing/supporting the company's Device Management, order management and fulfillment processes. S/he is an advocate of continuous improvements and industry recognized best practices. The position plays a vital role within the supply chain processes, providing high quality solutions into production environments. A great candidate will drive business best practices and standardization across the organization to best serve the company.

Responsibilities
  • Help lead the effort in architecture/design/development/support with our Mobility and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and related solutions.

  • Liaison to the Business and Functional IT groups regarding acquisition implementations, system enhancements upgrades and road mapping.

  • Drive improvements to the Mobile management and business processes, identify automation, improvements, and drive efficiency.

  • Direct our service partners and other IT Support groups on application support, troubleshooting including corrections for production issues, recommendations for improvement.

  • Partner with IT&T groups in Integration, e-Commerce, and related technologies to provide effective solutions to serve Smithfield's consumer products growth strategy.

  • Provide guidance to our service partners with technical expertise in the key DSD areas:

    • Organizational Structure: Distribution Network, Shipping Points, Sales/Purchasing

    • Document Management: Order Management, Inventory, Accounting

    • Master Data: Business Partners, Materials, Routes, etc.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of Mobile Device Management experience (Ex: SOTI, Intune) required.

  • Experience related to Direct Store Delivery (DSD), point of sales (POS) and supply chain systems is a plus.

  • Experience with SQL, HTML and JSON programming and ERP solutions (Ex: SAP, Oracle, JDEdwards) is a plus.

  • Experience in Meat, Food or other consumer product industries is a plus.

  • Strong background in problem determination/solution design.

  • Experience with design prototyping/testing automation solution is a plus.

  • Great team player in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • No supervisory responsibilities, but responsible for directing/managing Service Providers and other Distribution/Logistics area Analysts.

Work Environment
  • Occasionally required to work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles.

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Although majority of the time work will be performed in an office environment, must be able to visit and comfortably work in a plant, warehouse, distribution center or other manufacturing facility.

  • Up to 25% travel required.
