Job Description
Enterprise Architect needed for a contract-to-hire opportunity with SOC's client to work in Richmond, Virginia.

Responsibilities
The Senior Architect is an experienced technologist and leader who will be a core member of the program team. The Senior Architect leads and manages a team of professionals providing infrastructure IT strategy, solution design, service continuity, quality assurance, and cyber risk management services to a variety of geographically disperse customers through Virginia. This position is based in Richmond, Virginia and include regular travel to customer locations in and around the greater Richmond area. Key job duties include:
  • Leading teams of architects and engineers to develop Annual Technology Roadmap, Annual Refresh Plans, and supporting technical designs for Enterprise Infrastructure Services;
  • Developing re-usable Service Archetypes and standards as building blocks for rapid solution development and deployment. Key technology areas include: Cloud, IAM, server (Linux, AIX, UNIX, mainframe, storage, Network, End User Computing)
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and best practice guidance for the development of Service Design Packages (SDP), logical and physical architectures
  • Complete activities supporting IT strategy and business alignment including market and opportunity analysis to identify and promote solutions for current and emerging business needs
  • Incorporate feedback, lessons learned and data from Continual Service Improvement activities into technology planning, refresh and design activities to continually improve cost, quality, and flexibility of solutions offered
  • Incorporate requirements and guidelines from various compliance standards, laws, and best practices to design solutions and technology plans consistent with customer needs and commensurate with data protection standards
  • Balance utility and warranty options to develop best-value solutions and services for IT investment
  • Manage the Service Pipeline and Catalog of Retired Services as part of the overall Services Portfolio
  • Provide support for Business Case development, Business Impact Analysis and related activities that underpin the assessment of technology services and solutions for business alignment.
  • Lead collaborative technical conversations using white boards and other visualization techniques to fully develop and explore conceptual approaches.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive infrastructure experience including design; experience translating business requirements and objectives into IT strategy; and experience with one or more frameworks for best practice delivery including ITIL v3 2011. Experience must include familiarity with application, platforms and infrastructure layers and a focus on User Experience. Experience with state & local government customers is a strong plus. The candidate should have minimum of three years experience in leading and directing architecture programs.
  • Experience with one or more Cloud services including: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and integration of Software-as-a-Service offerings into Enterprise Solutions.
  • Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more of related experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more of related experience
  • Strong skills with: MS Office products, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft SharePoint
  • ITIL certification preferred (v3 2011 Foundation or above); ITIL Intermediate in Service Strategy and/or Service Design is a plus
  • Experience with virtualization of data centers and cloud services including VMWare, vRealize, Hyper-V
  • Experience with Windows, Active Directory, IAM solutions, database platforms (Oracle, SQL, PostGres, others)
  • Demonstrated experience in participating in, and leading the development of, documented architecture such as physical, logical, and data models.
  • Experience in the development of Service Design Packages (SDP)s and Service Archetypes leading to Service Catalog entries for consumers of services
  • Experience with one or more Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as (but not limited to):
    • TOGAF
    • DODAF
    • Zachman
    • FEA
    • Gartner
  • Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Cyber Security experience are a plus, as is experience with ServiceNOW
In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly rate range for this role is $90.00 to $110.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
